Explained simply
Aerosmith are an American rock band formed in Boston in 1970. Singer Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry are among its best-known members, and songs such as “Dream On” and “Walk This Way” helped make the band one of the major acts in US rock.
The band’s touring future changed after Tyler injured his vocal cords in 2023. Aerosmith cancelled its farewell tour and said it would retire from touring, though that did not necessarily mean the end of the band or its music.
Dave Grohl is the Foo Fighters’ singer and guitarist and was previously the drummer for Nirvana. Joey Kramer is Aerosmith’s original drummer, while John Douglas has also toured with the band. The Hollywood Bowl performance brought these musicians together for a short set, leaving the question of Aerosmith’s future live appearances open.
