Death Stranding anime’s first trailer is so epic it might finally help people grasp it isn’t a walking simulator at all
The first trailer for the animated series *Death Stranding: Isolations* has been released, offering a brief look at its ominous world of mysterious entities and catastrophic craters. The series is set to arrive on Disney+ in 2027, and could introduce the franchise’s story and setting to viewers unfamiliar with the games.
The trailer opens with a courier at the edge of a crater caused by a “voidout”, an explosion triggered when a Beached Thing swallows a living person. It later follows a young girl who appears to sense or dream about such entities, though her circumstances remain unclear. Kojima’s studio is producing the series with Japanese animation company E&H, founded by former MAPPA director Sunghoo Park.
