Explained simply
The WXV Global Series is an international rugby competition for women’s national teams. Wales and Japan are among the sides competing, and their matches count as Test rugby, the term for games between national teams.
Wales are coached by Sean Lynn, while Toshizumi Kitagawa leads Japan. The teams had already met earlier in the series, so this match was the second time they faced each other; results also shaped how each side finished the competition.
