Explained simply
Jimmy Olsen is a reporter in DC’s comic-book world and a colleague of Superman. Gorilla Grodd is a super-intelligent gorilla, usually portrayed as an enemy who wants to rule the world.
DC Studios is the company behind screen adaptations of DC characters, including Superman. This series is planned as a mockumentary: a fictional story presented in the style of a documentary, with Jimmy investigating Grodd. Its creators, Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda, also made the comedy series American Vandal.
The project is part of DC’s wider screen universe, where familiar characters can appear in different kinds of stories. It is planned for 2027, though no release date has been announced.
