Ex-ACCEPT Singer DAVID REECE To Perform With The Band At Two Shows On 50th-Anniversary Tour

Blabbermouth ·

Former ACCEPT singer David Reece will join the band for two performances on its 50th-anniversary tour, reuniting with the group decades after his departure. He says guitarist Wolf Hoffmann invited him, and Reece sees the reunion as a chance to put past tensions aside and share the stage again.

Reece is scheduled to perform in Oberhausen, Germany, on 21 November and Milan, Italy, on 2 December, singing “a few” songs. He joined ACCEPT for the 1989 album *Eat The Heat* after original singer Udo Dirkschneider left, but departed during the tour following disagreements within the band. Dirkschneider later returned, and ACCEPT resumed activity in 1993.

In short

  • David Reece will reunite with ACCEPT for two anniversary-tour shows.
  • He is due to appear in Oberhausen and Milan.
  • Reece fronted the band for its 1989 album *Eat The Heat*.

Explained simply

ACCEPT are a German heavy metal band formed in the 1970s, with guitarist Wolf Hoffmann among their long-standing members. Their early singer, Udo Dirkschneider, left in the late 1980s, and David Reece took over vocals for the 1989 album Eat the Heat.

Reece left during the tour for that album after disagreements within the band. Dirkschneider later returned, and ACCEPT resumed activity in 1993. Reece’s brief return comes as the band marks 50 years since its formation, bringing together musicians from different periods of its history.
