2 of Rockstar’s Biggest Games Officially Removed From PlayStation Plus Mere Days Before ‘GTA 6’
Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 are leaving the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium game catalogue on 17 November 2026. Their removal comes just days before the planned release of Grand Theft Auto 6, and means subscribers who have not finished either game will need to buy a separate copy to keep playing.
The November departures also include The Talos Principle 2, Cricket 24 and Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break. Downloading the Rockstar games before they leave will not retain access through the subscription, though save data can generally transfer to a compatible purchased version. Players should check the edition and region match when buying.
In short
- GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 leave PlayStation Plus on 17 November.
- Downloading them will not preserve subscription access.
- Compatible purchased versions can generally use existing save data.
Explained simply
PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium are Sony subscription plans that include a changing catalogue of games. Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 are large open-world games made by Rockstar Games, a studio known for the Grand Theft Auto series.
Grand Theft Auto V follows a group of criminals in the fictional city of Los Santos, while Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in the American West in the late 19th century. Grand Theft Auto 6 is the next main game in the series, and its planned release has drawn attention to Rockstar’s earlier titles.
Games in the subscription catalogue are available to play while they remain included and the subscription is active. Save data may carry over to a separately bought copy, depending on its edition and region.
