HBO’s Acclaimed Crime Thriller Officially Resumes Filming After 7 Years

HBO has reportedly begun production on the third season of *Big Little Lies*, seven years after the crime drama first aired. The shoot lasted just one day and took place on the Warner Bros. lot in Los Angeles, apparently to preserve the show’s eligibility for a California tax credit.

The report says a supporting cast member from the earlier seasons was present, but does not identify them or the director. HBO announced the new season a year ago; the first season debuted in 2017 and the second in 2019. The series was initially planned as a limited series, and HBO has not confirmed who will direct season three.
