Explained simply

Rawayana is a Venezuelan band whose music blends Latin pop and other Caribbean and Latin American influences. Its songs and live shows often draw on Venezuelan culture, helping it connect with Venezuelans living abroad as well as other listeners.

Cheo Pardo is a Venezuelan musician and DJ, and Yorghaki is a Venezuelan singer and producer; both joined the band at the New York concert. Barclays Center is a large arena in Brooklyn, and the show formed part of Rawayana’s international tour.

The concert also raised attention for people affected by earthquakes in Venezuela, with a request for donations towards long-term recovery. That gave the event a link to communities in Venezuela at a time when many people from the country live outside it.
