Stealth Classic Thief: The Dark Project Returns for a PS5 Remaster with New Content
Thief: The Dark Project is returning on PS5 in a remastered edition due for release on 3 December 2026. The 1998 stealth game helped shape its genre, and the new release adds a campaign that connects its story to the sequel, Thief 2: The Metal Age.
Developed with Nightdive Studios’ KEX Engine, the remaster supports 4K resolution and 120 frames per second. It includes the original game, Thief: Gold’s three extra missions and the new campaign The Tarnished Mirror, created by the team behind the fan-made Thief: The Black Parade. Digital editions cost £24.99 for the standard version and £28.99 for Digital Deluxe; a physical Deluxe Trapezoid edition, with a steelbook, booklet, box and remaster diary, costs £49.99.
