The American French Film Festival At 30: Building Bridges Between French Cinema & Hollywood
The American French Film Festival (TAFFF) opens its 30th edition in Los Angeles on 3 November, presenting a six-day programme of 60 French films and series. Organisers say the festival has grown from a niche event into an industry platform that connects French cinema with Hollywood and showcases France’s role in international co-productions.
The programme opens with *In Waves*, an animated adaptation of AJ Dungo’s graphic novel, and closes on 8 November with *The American Dream*, a comedy-drama based on French basketball agents Bouna Ndiaye and Jérémy Medjana. Five films in the International Feature Oscar race will screen, including France’s entry *Minotaur* and co-productions representing Romania, Belgium, Japan and Morocco. Other selections include *The Electric Kiss*, *All About Corinne*, *Karma* and *De Gaulle*; organisers describe several films as exploring resistance to oppressive systems.
