Rhythms & Cinematic Shadows As Pen Pin’s ‘Vampire’ Lands
Indie pop duo Pen Pin have released their single ‘Vampire’ with a monochrome video that pairs horror-film imagery with everyday situations. The release previews their forthcoming debut album, ‘PONY UP!’, and blends playful presentation with a song about finding safety and loyalty in an uncertain world.
Jeni Magaña and Emily Moore met while touring with Mitski and make much of their music themselves, drawing on experience as songwriters, multi-instrumentalists and touring performers. ‘Vampire’ opens with the sounds of a grandfather clock and digital timepiece before moving into a catchy mix of indie rock, dream pop and shoegaze. Magaña describes its theme as having someone who is always on your side.
