The 10 Worst Sci-Fi Movies in Film History
The article ranks ten films as the worst science-fiction movies in film history, arguing that the genre’s scope for ambitious ideas also leaves many ways for a film to fail. It attributes the films’ problems to a mix of weak storytelling, effects and dialogue, as well as studio interference and misguided creative choices.
The examples in the supplied text include *Battlefield Earth*, *The Last Airbender*, *After Earth* and *The Happening*. The article notes that *Battlefield Earth* won seven Razzies and was later named Worst Picture of the Decade; *The Last Airbender* won five Razzies and faced criticism over its casting and compressed adaptation. The excerpt ends partway through its discussion of *The Happening*, so it does not provide the full ranking.
In short
- The article ranks ten science-fiction films among the worst in the genre.
- Four films discussed include *Battlefield Earth* and *The Last Airbender*.
- *Battlefield Earth* won seven Razzies and Worst Picture of the Decade.
