Behind Election Night Scenes, Fox News Launches New Multimedia Era
Fox News is introducing new control rooms on Election Night to help producers share reporting more quickly across television, streaming, digital and social platforms. The change reflects audiences’ increasingly varied viewing habits and aims to reach more people without duplicating the company’s news operation.
Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network will simulcast coverage led by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, with Trace Gallagher covering overnight hours. Fox Nation and Fox News Digital will stream “Ruthless Live!” from Washington, while users will be able to ask an AI chatbot about races and voting trends. The expansion comes as Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch has cited viewer fatigue and falling ratings in the third quarter and October.
In short
- Fox News is linking its election coverage across platforms.
- An AI chatbot will answer questions about races and voting trends.
- The changes come amid recent ratings declines and viewer fatigue.
