Blumhouse & Atomic Monster Unveil New Name For Combined Studio
Blumhouse and Atomic Monster have renamed their combined production company Blumhouse Atomic, two years after merging. The two founders, Jason Blum and James Wan, say the shared operation has expanded their ability to develop horror films and other projects while keeping both labels and their creative teams distinct.
Since the merger, the company has generated more than $2.5 billion in global box office on combined production budgets below $330 million. Its films have earned nearly $1.3 billion in 2026 on budgets under $70 million; Obsession and Backrooms became the highest-grossing films for their respective distributors. Blumhouse Atomic is developing a new Saw chapter with Wan, alongside projects including Paranormal Activity and Blair Witch, and plans to release a slate of original and franchise titles in 2027.
