Overwatch season 5 midseason patch brings buffs and nerfs, Stellar Blade collab, and Mythic Roadhog skin
Overwatch’s midseason patch adds balance changes, a Stellar Blade collaboration and Roadhog’s first Mythic skin, Necrotic Knight. It also brings new events and rewards, alongside updated measures aimed at detecting disruptive gameplay.
The patch includes buffs for Junker Queen and nerfs for Jetpack Cat and Doctrine. From 3 November to 7 December, players can complete challenges for rewards including a Legendary Doomfist skin and Vendetta’s Mythic weapon; a separate Junkrat event runs from 19 to 23 November with double XP and loot boxes. Blizzard says it has improved sabotage detection and will show a “Thank You” message after reports of disruptive behaviour.
In short
- The midseason patch brings hero balance changes and new cosmetics.
- Roadhog receives his first Mythic skin.
- Events offer rewards from 3 November to 7 December.
Explained simply
Overwatch is a team-based game in which players choose characters with different abilities and work together to complete objectives. Blizzard, the game’s maker, adjusts those abilities in patches to change how characters perform and adds events and cosmetic items such as skins, which alter a character’s appearance.
Junker Queen, Junkrat, Doomfist and Roadhog are playable characters; a Mythic skin is a high-tier cosmetic item. The patch also links Overwatch with Stellar Blade, an action game made by South Korean studio Shift Up, through a collaboration. Blizzard’s measures against sabotage concern players who deliberately disrupt their own team’s efforts.
