Soulframe is finally entering open alpha, but it looks like a completely different game
Digital Extremes is opening Soulframe’s “Preludes” alpha to everyone on PC, ending the invite-only access that has limited who could try the fantasy game since 2023. The change marks a major step in its development and arrives alongside an update that reshapes the game’s world and activities.
Update 17, “Verse of the Veilands”, spreads Ode’n corruption across Midrath through map-based Ode Syphons. Players will complete Votives to unlock songs that cleanse each region, affecting its resources, wildlife, events and loot. The update also adds the Ode Strike Pact, new weapons and armour, wolf-pup mounts and seasonal Halloween content; access is through the game’s own PC client.
In short
- Soulframe’s alpha is opening to all PC players.
- Update 17 brings corruption-cleansing quests and regional changes.
- New content includes a Pact, weapons, armour and mounts.
