Popular Aussie fashion brand BlackMilk Clothing enters voluntary administration after moving production offshore
Australian fashion label BlackMilk Clothing has entered voluntary administration after facing sustained pressure from weaker consumer conditions, rising costs and complex global trading. Co-owner Linda Lillis said the process would give the business a chance to consider its future, but the outcome is uncertain.
Founded by Linda and James Lillis 17 years ago, the Brisbane-based brand became known for bold prints and statement designs. The move follows its July decision to close its last Australian factory and shift production to China; the website remains open and orders are still being shipped.
