Tokyo’s Mr Cheesecake by former Michelin restaurant chef opens first Singapore pop-up
Tokyo-based Mr Cheesecake will make its Southeast Asian debut with a pop-up at ION Orchard in Singapore from 11 November to 30 December. The launch brings the cult-favourite Japanese brand to the region, offering cheesecakes developed by former fine-dining chef Koji Tamura.
Six flavours will be available, with prices starting at S$62 for the Basque Cheesecake Original and ranging up to S$69. The cakes can be eaten frozen, partly thawed or fully thawed for different textures; the brand, founded in 2018, says it has sold more than one million cheesecakes in Japan and has no permanent Singapore outlet planned so far.

Explained simply
Mr Cheesecake is a Japanese dessert brand founded in Tokyo in 2018 by Koji Tamura, a chef who previously worked in fine dining. It is known for cheesecakes sold in several flavours and designed to be eaten at different stages of thawing, which changes their texture.
The brand has built a following in Japan, where it says it has sold more than one million cheesecakes. Its Singapore appearance is a temporary pop-up, giving local customers a chance to try a Japanese food brand without it opening a permanent shop.
