Armed men torture game farm couple and steal seven guns in South Africa

Three armed men raided Les and Natasha Brett’s game farm in Broederstroom, South Africa, and tortured the couple for hours while demanding access to their safe. The attack has heightened concern about a series of farm raids in the area, though police are investigating this incident as a house robbery.

The attackers beat and burned the couple, threatened to rape Natasha and cut her nipples with bolt cutters; they also forced a rifle into Les’s mouth. They left with seven firearms, ammunition, phones, a laptop and cash. Security responders arrived after the couple raised the alarm, but no arrests have been reported. The article also describes a separate recent raid in which a farmer was badly injured.
