‘Dreams Do Come True’: Celebrities React as Democrats Sweep to Power In 2026 Midterm Election

Democrats won control of both the Senate and the House in the 2026 midterm elections, ending years out of power and leaving President Donald Trump to face his final two years with a weakened position in Congress. The result prompted public celebrations from musicians and actors, many of whom had urged Americans to vote.

Democrats flipped six Senate seats, including in Texas, Maine, Kansas, Iowa, Ohio and both Carolinas, while two dozen House seats changed hands. Amy Acton also defeated Vivek Ramaswamy in Ohio’s governor race. Mandy Moore praised Stacey Abrams, Henry Winkler posted “Dreams do come true”, and Jimmy Kimmel mocked Trump during his show.
