Callum Turner leads Bond casting odds after Brosnan’s praise
Callum Turner has emerged as the bookmakers’ favourite to become the next James Bond, with William Hill cutting his odds as speculation grows about the 26th film. Pierce Brosnan, who acted alongside Turner in a 2017 film, praised him as “so strong”, while the casting would mark a major decision for the franchise under its new creative leadership.
William Hill now prices Turner at 8/13, down from 3/1; Jack Lowden is at 2/1 and Josh O’Connor at 9/2. Turner’s resignation as a director of his production company and a social media post showing him and Dua Lipa with martinis have fuelled the rumours, though no casting announcement has been made. Producer Amy Pascal has said news is likely by the end of the year; the film, directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Steven Knight, is reportedly scheduled for 2028.
In short
- Callum Turner is William Hill’s new Bond favourite at 8/13.
- Pierce Brosnan has praised Turner’s strength and screen presence.
