Conan on desire to keep playing and Farrell’s influence
Jack Conan says Andy Farrell’s emphasis on honest conversations has strengthened Ireland’s rugby squad and helped new players settle in. The 34-year-old, who has 62 caps, credits a culture where players can admit uncertainty without fear of being judged.
Conan will miss Ireland’s November matches against Argentina, Fiji and South Africa after injuring his shoulder while playing for Leinster against Clermont. He hopes to return for next year’s Six Nations and wants to play at the 2027 Rugby World Cup. Despite being in the later years of his career, he says he still feels strong, enjoys playing and remains motivated to compete, including in memory of his mother, who died in August.
