‘Event Horizon’s Original Director Officially Reveals 2-Part Spiritual Successor Franchise

Paul W.S. Anderson, director of *Event Horizon*, is attached to direct film adaptations of *Nether Station* and *Nether Vortex*, two science-fiction horror novels by Kevin J. Anderson. The projects mark a return to cosmic horror for the filmmaker and connect to *Event Horizon*, which the author cited as an influence on *Nether Station*.

Both films are in development, with Jonathan Wakeham writing the screenplays. The novels follow Cammie Skoura, a brilliant, neurodivergent young scientist whose deep-space expedition uncovers ancient ruins and extinct alien civilisations with terrifying implications. Anderson will also produce with Jeremy Bolt, John Harlacher and Tony Eldridge; casting and release dates have not been announced.
