Resolve Share Astonishing New Track ‘Mind Awake, Body Asleep’
Resolve have released ‘Mind Awake, Body Asleep’, a new track from their upcoming album ‘Spread My Ashes Into Space’. The song blends melodic passages with heavy metalcore and post-hardcore elements, and vocalist Anthony Diliberto says its lyrics draw on his own experiences of sleep paralysis.
Diliberto describes episodes in which he is conscious but feels trapped in his body, and says the boundary between sleep paralysis, nightmares and reality can become hard to distinguish. The song also refers to historical interpretations of the phenomenon and takes its title from the television series ‘Mr. Robot’; the album is due on 15 January 2027 via Arising Empire.

Explained simply
Resolve are a metal band from France whose music combines heavy guitar parts with melodic sections. Anthony Diliberto is the band’s vocalist, and his experiences provide the starting point for this song.
Sleep paralysis is a state in which someone becomes aware while falling asleep or waking up but temporarily cannot move. It can involve vivid, frightening sensations, which may make it difficult to tell what is part of a dream and what is happening in the room.
People have interpreted sleep paralysis in different ways across history, before it was understood as a sleep-related experience. The song’s title comes from the television series Mr. Robot, linking Diliberto’s personal account with broader cultural references.
