PS5 Exclusive God of War Laufey Has Officially Been Delayed by Three Months
Santa Monica Studio has delayed PS5 exclusive God of War Laufey by just over three months, moving its release from 16 February to 20 May 2027. The studio says the extra time will allow it to finish the game and push it towards its full potential.
The game follows Faye, the late wife of Kratos, on a journey through the afterlife. Announced in June 2026, it is still due to arrive within a year of its reveal, despite the revised date.

Explained simply
God of War is a PlayStation game series centred on Kratos, a warrior from ancient Greece who later lives in a world inspired by Norse mythology. Faye, also known as Laufey, is Kratos’s late wife and the mother of their son, Atreus.
The new game puts Faye at the centre of the story, following her journey through the afterlife. It is being made by Santa Monica Studio, the team behind earlier God of War games, and is planned for PlayStation 5.
