Surreal moment Tarantino and Kylie Minogue came to my hometown to star in my new film
Welsh filmmaker Jamie Adams brought Quentin Tarantino, Kylie Minogue and rapper RZA to Porthcawl to make his new film, Tangled Up in Blue. Filming in places tied to his life, including his father’s former pub, made the project especially personal and brought excitement to the town.
Tarantino plays a talent manager who, after 40 years managing famous performers, becomes stranded at a hotel bar between an old flame and a lost soul. Adams used his improvisational approach, which allows scenes to develop spontaneously, and said Tarantino likened the process to French New Wave cinema. There is no release date yet, but Adams is aiming for summer 2027 and hopes to hold a premiere in Cardiff.
