Sonic the Hedgehog is in The Angry Birds Movie 3 for some reason, and people are confused

Sonic the Hedgehog makes a brief, unexplained appearance in the second trailer for The Angry Birds Movie 3, running alongside Chuck. The unexpected crossover has left viewers puzzled, and may be intended to draw attention to a sequel arriving years after the previous film.

Sega bought Angry Birds developer Rovio in 2023, which could explain Sonic’s cameo as corporate promotion. It is not yet known whether Ben Schwartz or Roger Craig Smith will voice Sonic. The film follows Red as he faces fatherhood and is due in cinemas on 25 December, alongside Jumanji 3.
