Pope Leo hosts Bob Dylan at official residence in Rome
Pope Leo XIV met Bob Dylan at the Apostolic Palace in Rome on Wednesday, during the singer’s Italian tour. The brief meeting brought together two Americans from the Midwest and drew attention partly because Leo has previously cited Dylan’s writing in a book about peace.
Leo gave Dylan a rosary, while Dylan presented the Pope with a copy of his autobiography, *Chronicles: Volume One*. Dylan, 85, was in Rome ahead of a Thursday concert at the Palazzo dello Sport as part of his Rough and Rowdy Ways tour. It was his second meeting with a pope: in 1997 he performed for Pope John Paul II and a crowd of about 300,000 in Bologna.
In short
- Pope Leo XIV hosted Bob Dylan at the Apostolic Palace in Rome.
