Singapore launches SG for Humanity network in bid to strengthen Gaza humanitarian aid efforts
Singapore has launched the SG for Humanity network to strengthen aid for people affected by the crisis in Gaza. It brings the government together with four humanitarian organisations to improve aid delivery and give Singaporeans more ways to contribute.
The initial partners are Humanity Matters, Mercy Relief, Rahmatan Lil Alamin Foundation and Singapore Red Cross. The network will help coordinate overseas partnerships and address the challenge of getting assistance to people who need it most, while offering opportunities to volunteer as well as donate; the organisations will continue to lead their own programmes.
In short
- Singapore launches a network to strengthen humanitarian aid for Gaza.
- Four organisations will work with the government to coordinate efforts.
- Singaporeans can contribute through volunteering as well as donations.
Explained simply
Gaza is a Palestinian territory where years of conflict and restrictions have left civilians reliant on humanitarian assistance. Delivering aid can be difficult, and supplies do not always reach the people who need them.
Singapore’s government and four aid organisations—Humanity Matters, Mercy Relief, Rahmatan Lil Alamin Foundation and Singapore Red Cross—are involved in the network. They will coordinate overseas partnerships, while each organisation continues to run its own programmes.
The effort matters because it aims to help direct assistance towards people affected by the crisis and give Singaporeans ways to support that work through donations or volunteering.
