Georgia son told 911 his missing mom was ‘abducted by aliens’ — before cops found her charred remains

Jason Christopher Campbell, 35, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after a Georgia jury found him guilty of concealing his mother’s death. Police found 65-year-old Marie Campbell’s charred remains in the backyard of their home in Homer after her son told emergency officials she had been abducted by aliens.

Marie was reported missing on 6 January 2025, with her car and personal belongings left behind. Investigators found her remains near a smouldering fire and burned mattress, and also noted a vehicle with a seat removed or folded down and a mud-covered sheet. Prosecutors proved Campbell had concealed her death; officials have not disclosed how she died, and he was not accused of causing her death.
