Mountains of fly-tipped waste dumped at £10million Welsh business park after ’50 caravans’ set up camp on empty site
Fly-tipped waste has been left along a road at Brocastle Business Park near Bridgend after a group living on the unused site departed. The incident has drawn attention to the condition of the publicly funded development, which remains empty nearly five years after completion.
A nearby resident estimated that 30 to 50 caravans had left, though around 20 were regularly at the site. The rubbish included garden and building waste, furniture and a damaged caravan; streetlights were also broken. The Welsh Government said the land had been occupied without authorisation and that steps were under way to secure the site and remove the waste.
