PlayStation sees record high player numbers and increased revenue for Q2 2026, and a lot of that success is down to Marvel’s Wolverine
PlayStation reached a record 127 million monthly active users across PS4 and PS5 in September, while time spent playing also rose. Sony said the growth helped lift revenue and operating profit in its Game & Network Services division, with Marvel’s Wolverine among the games credited for the quarter’s performance.
Wolverine had sold 2.4 million copies by 4 November, around 50 days after release; Ghost of Yotei has sold 3.3 million since October 2025. PS5 sales fell to 2.6 million in the quarter from 4 million a year earlier, but Sony says the platform is still growing and the PlayStation 6 remains on schedule.
In short
- PlayStation reached 127 million monthly active users.
- Wolverine sold 2.4 million copies in about 50 days.
- Quarterly PS5 sales fell to 2.6 million.
