Awkwafina’s ‘Kate Might Die,’ ‘Outside of Cleveland’ With Alex Wolff Among Projects Selected for U.S. in Progress

Eight independent films nearing the end of editing have been selected for the U.S. in Progress co-production forum at the Tauron American Film Festival in Wrocław, Poland. The selection gives the projects a platform to connect with industry partners as they move towards completion and features films with actors including Awkwafina and Alex Wolff.

Among them, “Kate Might Die” is a dark comedy about a production designer facing stage two breast cancer while balancing work, family and her husband’s recovery. “Outside of Cleveland” follows a man who returns to his childhood home and wakes up in 2009 as a teenager; other films described include stories about pregnancy and sisterhood, family ties across borders, and identity. The supplied article text ends partway through its description of “Situation #64”.
