The Golden Dregs Announce New Album ‘UK Gothic’

The Golden Dregs, the South London band led by songwriter Benjamin Woods, have announced their new album, *UK Gothic*, due for release on 29 January. Woods says it looks back on his past through a gothic lens, using vulnerable characters and unexplained events, and combines personal themes with a broader cultural perspective.

The album was made with Joy Of Life International and is introduced by the single “Real Thing”, a brooding indie rock song with spiritual influences drawn from Leonard Cohen’s 1980s work. Co-written with Ash frontman Tim Wheeler, it marks a different direction for the band and tells of a romance amid a group of radicals taking matters into their own hands.
