CANDLEBOX’s KEVIN MARTIN Has Changed His Mind About Making Another Full-Length Album: ‘We’re Doing It’
Candlebox frontman Kevin Martin says he has changed his mind about stepping away from the band and is now working on another full-length album. The group had announced a farewell tour and released an album billed as its final record more than three years ago, but renewed performances and songwriting with original guitarist Peter Klett have rekindled Martin’s enthusiasm.
Martin said Klett’s return for dates on a tour with Bush’s Gavin Rossdale and Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell revived a musical connection they first developed when Candlebox formed in Seattle in 1991. He said the band is enjoying its shows, which are selling out, and confirmed: “We’re doing it.” He also praised the other musicians who have played with Candlebox, while describing the songwriting partnership with Klett as especially familiar and energising.
