You can post AI music straight to SoundCloud from ElevenLabs
SoundCloud has added a feature that lets users publish music made with ElevenLabs directly to the streaming platform, without first downloading and re-uploading files. The partnership also gives SoundCloud Artist Pro subscribers three months of ElevenMusic Pro, signalling the platform’s continued willingness to work with generative AI music services.
Tracks published through the integration will be labelled to show they came from ElevenLabs. The feature is more limited than SoundCloud’s integration with Moises, which allows users to bring SoundCloud tracks into Moises for stem separation and remixing before publishing them again. SoundCloud encourages users subject to EU rules to label AI-generated or manipulated tracks and prohibits impersonation, while partnering with several AI music platforms.
In short
- ElevenLabs users can publish AI music directly to SoundCloud.
- Artist Pro subscribers get three months of ElevenMusic Pro.
- Directly published tracks will be labelled as AI-created.
Steelman: both sides, in good faith
The strongest fair case each way — we don't pick a winner.
The case for
Direct publishing makes it easier for musicians to share work made with generative tools, while clear labels can help listeners understand how tracks were created. Partnerships may also let SoundCloud offer artists more ways to experiment and reach an audience, subject to its rules against impersonation.
The case against
Making AI music easier to publish may increase the volume of synthetic tracks and make it harder for listeners to find or distinguish human-created work. Labels and impersonation rules may not resolve broader concerns about consent, attribution and the effects of generative music on musicians’ livelihoods.
