ElevenLabs now lets users publish AI-generated music directly on SoundCloud
ElevenLabs users will be able to publish music made with its ElevenMusic platform directly to SoundCloud, extending the route from AI song creation to public sharing. The partnership gives SoundCloud artists another tool for experimenting and reaching listeners, as music services take varied approaches to AI-generated tracks.
SoundCloud Artist Pro users can claim three months of ElevenMusic Pro, which allows up to 1,000 song generations, 500 stem separations and five custom styles or vocals each month. ElevenLabs says its models have produced more than 25 million tracks since its first music-generation model launched in 2025. Other platforms are taking different approaches: Deezer offers a way to filter out AI music, Bandcamp bans it, while Spotify and YouTube focus more cautiously on labelling.
In short
- ElevenMusic tracks can now be published directly to SoundCloud.
- SoundCloud Artist Pro users get three months of ElevenMusic Pro.
- Music platforms differ on how they handle AI-generated songs.
Steelman: both sides, in good faith
The strongest fair case each way — we don't pick a winner.
The case for
Direct publishing could give artists an easier way to share experiments, reach listeners and use AI as another creative tool. The partnership also offers SoundCloud users access to substantial music-generation features, potentially lowering barriers for people who lack traditional production resources.
The case against
Making AI-generated music easier to publish could add to concerns about crowded platforms, audience disclosure and the place of human-made work. The contrast with services that ban or filter AI tracks reflects a defensible desire to protect listener choice and artist communities while questions about AI music’s effects remain unsettled.
