Pies, pints and Peak District views: A trip to the Ladybower Inn
Sheffield diners visited the Ladybower Inn, a Peak District pub overlooking Ladybower Reservoir, and praised its hearty food and countryside setting. Taken over last year by restaurateur Tom Lawson, the inn offers a nearby escape from the city and combines traditional pub character with recently refurbished rooms.
The compact menu includes familiar dishes such as steak and ale pie, Cumberland sausage and beer-battered haddock, alongside teriyaki wings and crumpets with rarebit. The reviewers particularly liked the pie’s tender beef and pastry, the crisp batter on the fish and chips, and the sticky toffee pudding; the chef said the pub had recently changed fish supplier to improve freshness.
