Perplexity unveils always-on AI agents for workplace tasks
Perplexity has launched Teammates, always-on AI agents designed to handle different roles and work on tasks at the same time. The company says they can support ongoing, large-scale projects, positioning the feature alongside similar workplace agents from OpenAI and Anthropic.
Teammates can draw on projects, skills and memory from users’ existing Perplexity tools, and connect with Perplexity Computer, which deploys agents on a device. Users can follow each agent in a separate thread in the Perplexity app or interact through Slack. Access requires Perplexity’s Max subscription, priced at $200 a month; chief executive Aravind Srinivas said he envisages organisations eventually having hundreds of agents working for each person.
