Xbox enters the ‘faster PC launcher’ arms race, its app loads faster now too

Xbox has released a redesigned PC app to Xbox Insiders, promising faster loading and easier ways to navigate and organise games. The update aims to improve everyday use, including access to friends and social features, though quicker performance alone may not persuade PC players to switch from Steam.

Xbox says the app launches up to 60% faster; its Home, Store and Game Pass pages load up to 50% faster, and in-app windows open up to 65% faster. Actual results depend on factors such as the device and internet connection. The redesign also improves search and library navigation, while a refreshed Xbox web experience is planned with an improved library tab and more display options. To try the app update, users need to join the Xbox Insiders programme and install the Xbox Insider Hub.
