Princess Diana’s wedding dress designer sues Las Vegas show that tramples on memories: EDEN CONFIDENTIAL
Elizabeth Emanuel is suing the organisers of a Las Vegas exhibition featuring replicas of Princess Diana’s clothes, saying they copied her designs without permission and used her name in a way that could imply her approval. She argues that the displays, including a walkway over a replica of Diana’s wedding dress train, undermine the work’s artistic and historical significance and could harm her reputation.
The lawsuit names five companies behind Princess Diana & The Royals: The Exhibition and seeks damages and an injunction that could require disputed items to be removed. Emanuel says negotiations began in 2019, but no agreement was reached; organisers then allegedly commissioned a life-size paper replica from Belgian artist Isabelle de Borchgrave. The complaint also covers replicas of other outfits, including Diana’s black engagement-era dress and a gold-and-white gown. The defendants have not yet responded.
