God of War Ragnarok is PlayStation’s most successful game this generation, says market analyst
Market analyst Rhys Elliott says God of War Ragnarok is the highest-grossing first-party PlayStation game of this console generation, with estimated gross revenue of $1.4 billion. The figures underline the game’s continued commercial appeal, even years after release and despite its availability through PlayStation Plus.
Elliott estimates 21.6 million copies sold across PlayStation and Steam: 20.1 million on PlayStation and 1.6 million on Steam. The game sold 1.1 million copies so far in 2026, generating nearly $60 million, and has been accessed by 6.7 million PlayStation Plus players. Elliott also predicts the planned Prime Video adaptation starring Dave Bautista could be larger than Fallout.
