In 2000, Seth Rogen auditioned for ‘Band of Brothers’. He knew right away he wasn’t getting the part
In 2000, Seth Rogen auditioned for a role in the Second World War miniseries Band of Brothers, but realised as soon as he entered the room that he was unlikely to be cast. He recalled the episode during a 2026 podcast appearance, describing how his casual clothes stood out among about 35 actors dressed in military uniforms.
Rogen said he had gone to auditions in a Stussy T-shirt and cargo shorts because he had few clothes and had not thought to dress to suit a role. He did not get the part, and later missed out on a role in 8 Mile as well. After gaining early attention in Freaks and Geeks, he built a career in comedy films including Knocked Up and Pineapple Express, and eventually worked with Steven Spielberg on The Fabelmans in 2022.
