NZ opener Conway ruled out of remainder of India ODI series
New Zealand opener Devon Conway has been ruled out of the rest of the one-day international series against India after suffering concussion in a training collision with teammate Matt Henry. His absence weakens New Zealand’s batting as they try to recover from losing the opening match and level the five-match series.
Henry has been cleared of concussion and is available for Saturday’s second ODI in Wellington. Left-handed batter Nick Kelly has been called up early from the New Zealand A squad to replace Conway. India won the rain-disrupted first ODI in Auckland by five wickets, and New Zealand will hope Conway recovers in time for the first Test, which begins in Wellington on November 19.
In short
- Devon Conway will miss the rest of the ODI series with concussion.
- Matt Henry is cleared to play in Saturday’s second match.
- Nick Kelly has been called up as Conway’s replacement.
