Queens of the Stone Age Crowned on ARIA Chart With ‘Perfecth’
Queens of the Stone Age have debuted at No. 1 on Australia’s ARIA Albums Chart with their ninth studio album, *Perfecth*. It is the band’s third chart-topping album, following *…Like Clockwork* and *Villains*, and its success also matters on vinyl: the record led the ARIA Vinyl Chart for the week.
Several other new releases reached the top 10, including Nickelback’s *Everything Under The Sun* at No. 3 and Eddie Perfect’s *Beetlejuice (Live At The Regent Theatre Melbourne)* at No. 5, his first appearance in the top 50. Fanny Lumsden’s *Traditions* reached a career-best No. 6, while Gretta Ray’s *Heartsong* set a new personal high at No. 11. Dominic Fike and Mighty Car Mods creator Moog also entered the chart, at Nos. 22 and 40 respectively; Tate McRae’s “Housewife” stayed atop the singles chart for a third week.
In short
- Queens of the Stone Age debut at No. 1 with *Perfecth*.
- The album also tops Australia’s vinyl chart.
- Fanny Lumsden and Eddie Perfect achieve career milestones.
Explained simply
The ARIA Albums Chart ranks albums sold and streamed in Australia, while the ARIA Vinyl Chart tracks vinyl sales. A high chart position shows an album has found a sizeable audience in the country; it does not measure critical opinion or explain why listeners chose it.
Queens of the Stone Age are an American rock band formed in 1996, led by singer and guitarist Josh Homme. Perfecth is their ninth studio album, following a career that has included two earlier ARIA No. 1 albums, …Like Clockwork and Villains.
The chart also provides a snapshot of different artists reaching Australian listeners at the same time, from established international acts to Australian performers. Comparing album and vinyl rankings shows how the same release can perform across different formats.
