Singaporean Ashley Tan dropped from CEO role by US-based non-profit FHI 360
FHI 360 has decided not to proceed with Ashley Tan’s appointment as chief executive after its board learned new information about his previous work and management experience during onboarding. The US-based development organisation said the decision followed its governance procedures, but did not explain what the information was.
Deborah Kennedy-Iraheta has been appointed interim CEO with immediate effect while the board resumes its search. Tan, 39, had been selected after an executive search and would have been FHI 360’s first Asian CEO in its 55-year history. The organisation has nearly 3,000 staff in more than 70 countries and works in areas including public health, education and humanitarian assistance; Tan previously held a global social impact and sustainability role at Amazon Web Services.
In short
