Eurovision rocker Sam Ryder reveals how Iron Maiden changed his life
Sam Ryder says Iron Maiden’s album *Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son* sparked his love of music after he found its battered CD on a school trip. The story, which he recalled while appearing on *Celebrity Race Across The World*, helps explain the lasting influence of the band on the Eurovision runner-up and singer.
Ryder said only one track, “The Evil That Men Do”, would play on his Walkman, but it was enough to make him a fan. He has seen Iron Maiden live 15 times and previously called the 1988 album his greatest of all time. Ryder is currently travelling from Kuching to Melbourne with his friend and tour manager Kaz on the BBC show.
