‘Movie star’ dog hit by car but still spends 2 years waiting for new home

Leon, a roughly five-year-old dog rescued after being hit by a car, has spent two years in a shelter while waiting to be adopted. Greek Stray ResQ is seeking a UK home for him, saying he has been repeatedly overlooked despite being affectionate and gentle.

Leon was found in an industrial area in August 2024 with injuries so severe he nearly lost the toes on one paw, but he recovered. The charity describes him as comfortable with human company yet content to have his own space, and says he needs a patient owner who can offer companionship, walks and a settled home.
