Olympic champion Khelif set for first bout since Paris Games on December 15
Olympic boxing champion Imane Khelif is due to return to the ring on 15 December in Paris, her first bout since winning gold at the 2024 Games. Her comeback follows an injury that forced her to withdraw from a professional fight in April.
Khelif, 27, will face 21-year-old Dutch boxer Clarida Sarabia in a six-round professional bout; Sarabia has won all four of her professional fights. Khelif has not competed at official events since the Olympics, which were followed by a dispute over her eligibility and complaints concerning World Boxing’s gender tests. Her coach says she has no interest in defending her Olympic title in 2028.
In short
- Khelif returns to boxing in Paris on 15 December.
- She will face undefeated boxer Clarida Sarabia.
- Her coach says she will not seek a second Olympic title.
