Ireland name uncapped duo for T20 tournament
Ireland have named uncapped Zara Craig and Abbi Harrison in their 14-player squad for the expanded ICC Emerging Nations Trophy, while Lara Maritz returns after last playing for Ireland in 2021. The tournament gives the team a chance to test its progress against a broader field as it builds towards the 2028 T20 World Cup.
Craig, a 23-year-old seam bowling all-rounder, and 20-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Harrison have both played in Ireland’s under-19 pathway. Captain Gaby Lewis leads the squad, with Amy Hunter as vice-captain; Orla Prendergast is playing in Australia’s Women’s Big Bash League, while Rebecca Stokell, Leah Paul and injured Christina Coulter Reilly are unavailable. The 10-team tournament runs in the UAE from 12 to 25 November, and Ireland open against Sri Lanka before facing Papua New Guinea, the UAE and Scotland.
